Charlie Puth is an American singer, songwriter and record producer. He rose to fame after his song “See You Again” topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 2015. Since then, he has released three studio albums and has achieved multiple awards including two Grammy Awards. Thirty-one-year-old Puth was born in New Jersey on December 2, 1991. Puth signed with record label eleveneleven in 2011 after he performed on the Ellen DeGeneres Show while he was writing and producing music for other artists.
He started playing piano at age four and wrote his first song at age 11. He attended Berklee College of Music for a few semesters before dropping out to pursue a career as a singer-songwriter. Puth’s debut single “Marvin Gaye” featuring Meghan Trainor was released in 2015 and reached number one on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart. His second single “One Call Away” was also successful and peaked at number 12 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart.
In 2016, Puth released his debut studio album Nine Track Mind which reached number six on the US Billboard 200 chart and spawned three more singles; “We Don’t Talk Anymore,” “I Don’t Wanna Live Forever” and “Attention”. In 2017, Puth released his second studio album Voicenotes which debuted at number four on the US Billboard 200. The album’s first single, “Attention” peaked at number five on the Billboard Hot 100 and his second single release from the album, “How Long,” peaked at number 21 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart.
In 2022 he released his third studio album called Charlie which went on to produce hit singles, Light Switch and Left and Right which both peaked in the top 40 of the Hot 100 and were certified Platinum and Gold by the RIAA.
